David W. Fiore: Chief Executive Officer

David W. Fiore, a distinguished leader in the renewable energy sector, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Buena Vista Solar, LLC, earning recognition from Carrington Publishers for Business Owners for his unwavering dedication, notable achievements, and exemplary leadership.

In his role as CEO since 2012, Mr. Fiore leverages his extensive expertise in solar and renewable energy sources to spearhead Buena Vista Solar’s success. His responsibilities include site development for renewable projects, where he identifies properties suitable for sustainable development, often repurposing abandoned coal facilities and closed steel mills. Concurrently, Mr. Fiore holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Community Energy Group LLC, a role he assumed in 2022. His journey into renewables marks a strategic shift from his previous experience in the coal industry, where he engaged in prospecting coal properties, overseeing mining operations, and facilitating coal sales to brokers.

Having inherited a family legacy in the coal industry, Mr. Fiore recognized the potential of solar, wind, geothermal, and other sustainable energy sources. Post-high school, he directed his career toward renewable power resources, conducting prospecting work and obtaining essential permits. At the age of 21, he secured a loan to finance his venture, marking the inception of his impactful contributions to the renewable energy landscape.

A source of pride for Mr. Fiore is Buena Vista Solar’s 500-acre solar development in southwest Pennsylvania. Looking ahead, he envisions continued development of brownfield sites for renewable energy and beneficial reuse over the next five years. Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Fiore is committed to community welfare, actively supporting charitable organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, homeless shelters, feeding programs, and other vital missions.
