Bill Yarborough is a seasoned financial executive, acclaimed author, and dedicated community leader whose nearly five-decade career seamlessly blends analytical expertise, creative storytelling, and compassionate service. Beginning his professional journey as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte in 1981, he advanced through senior roles at Bank of America Corporation, serving as Audit Director from 1988 to 2004 and later as Risk Manager from 2004 to 2017, where he earned the prestigious Gold Medal Teammate Award in Corporate Risk Management.
Since 2017, Mr. Yarborough has pursued a successful second career as a full-time author. His works include the highly rated memoir-based novel Memories of MKULTRA: A Journey of Discovery from Darkness to Deliverance (Manhattan Book Group), inspired by the author's actual experiences. The book follows three young siblings—Tommy, Beth, and Curtis Matthews—who are subjected to life-altering experiments in the late 1950s as part of the CIA's covert MK-ULTRA mind-control program. Designed to create super soldiers or spies, the program leaves the children with fragmented memories that only begin to surface decades later as they navigate the turbulent 1960s and 1980s.
At the center of the story is Dr. Rudolph Holtzmann, a Nazi-trained psychiatrist with a hidden agenda to mold Tommy into a future world leader, whose plans are threatened by internal dangers and one of his experimental subjects. Blending psychological depth with suspense, the novel explores themes of trauma, memory, identity, and deliverance, earning praise as "a chilling, thought-provoking journey into the unknown corners of the human mind."
"Memories of MK-ULTRA: A Journey of Discovery: From Darkness to Deliverance" is now available on Amazon and many other online book retailers, making this important narrative accessible to readers worldwide.
Mr. Yarborough is also the author of More Than a Christmas Party and the short story Night Mother (Prolific Press). He has contributed an emotional health column as co-author and a five-article series for Diablo Gazette Magazine. He is currently developing his forthcoming novel, The Teenage Sage, which explores themes of healing and spiritual awakening, and is co-authoring EFT on Steroids: The Extraordinary Power of Communal Tapping with his wife, Inge.
Yarborough holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, both from the University of North Texas. In addition to his CPA credential, he is a Certified Hypnotherapist, a Certified Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Techniques, and a Reiki Master. He is a member of the International Thriller Writers and the California Writers Club.
